I am a proud United States Air Force Veteran and served our nation from 1952-1960 as a member of an air crew. Professionally, I am a Certified Financial Planner™ Practitioner (CFP) and an Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS). I have been a resident of North Diamond Bar since 1966. I was elected to the Walnut Valley Water District Board of Director in August of 2002.

As a Walnut Valley Water District (WVWD) Director for Division 2, I represent consumers in North Diamond Bar. In this capacity, I support the District’s mission of providing the highest quality drinking water at the lowest possible price. Providing for a sustainable, reliable infrastructure is of utmost importance and is our business.

Currently up-to-date on all its maintenance programs, the District continues to take a proactive approach to water quality, ensuring a reliable conveyance system and delivery of high quality drinking water. The District has updated its General and Recycled water system master plans and developed a water resources program to maximize groundwater production. Its new recycled groundwater wells will help to maintain potable water delivery costs.

I have kept informed of the ever-challenging State and Federal regulatory requirements imposed on the District by attending workshops developed for board members. The current Board of Directors is comprised of seasoned, hardworking individuals with the common goal of providing sustainable, safe, cost-effective “quality and service” for District consumers. I am proud to be a part of that collaboration.

Drought and judicial decisions that have restricted the pumping of water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta have resulted in a water crisis in southern California. Strong proven leadership, experience, and knowledge are essential requirements for members of the Board of Directors of your water district in these very challenging times.

I have proudly served four terms as WVWD Board President and currently serve as the District’s First Vice President. In addition to serving as Chair of the District’s Public Information Committee, I am a member of the Finance Committee, an alternate member of the Personnel Committee, an Alternate Commissioner of the Pomona-Walnut-Rowland Joint Water Line Commission, a representative to the Three Valleys Municipal Water District, an alternate board member of the Association of California Water Agencies Joint Powers Insurance Authority (ACWA/JPIA), and an ACWA voting delegate.

I have completed extensive education and training through the California Special Districts Governance Academy in the areas of Governance Foundations, Setting Direction and Community Leadership, The Board’s Role in Finance and Fiscal Accountability, and the Board’s Role in Human Resources.

As a long-time Diamond Bar resident, I have served the local community through active involvement in a number of community service activities and organizations for many years. The successful “Shop Diamond Bar” slogan and program was launched during my Presidency on the, then, Diamond Bar Chamber of Commerce in 1989. I was also the Charter President of the Rotary Club of Walnut Valley in 1989.
